How we treat termites

How Gray Pest Control treats termites

Gray Pest Control treats termites with an inspection-first approach: a licensed technician inspects your home to confirm termite activity and conducive conditions, then recommends a treatment plan. We install and monitor the Sentricon® baiting system and also offer liquid barrier treatment, using EPA-registered products applied by licensed technicians per label directions. We serve homes across Jacksonville, Clay, Duval, St. Johns, and Flagler counties, including St. Augustine, Orange Park, Palm Coast, and Fernandina Beach in Northeast Florida.

Why it matters here

Subterranean termites are Northeast Florida’s top threat.

In Northeast Florida’s warm, humid climate, subterranean termites are the dominant termite threat to homes across Clay, Duval, St. Johns, and Flagler counties. They live in the soil and build mud tubes to reach the wood in your home’s structure, often working out of sight for months.

Swarms typically appear in spring, when winged reproductives leave the colony to start new ones — frequently the first visible sign a homeowner notices. Because the damage develops gradually and behind walls, an annual professional inspection is the most reliable way to catch activity early. As the team behind Gray Home Inspections, we’ve seen firsthand what undetected termites do to a home — and why early detection matters.

Certified Sentricon® Specialists

The Sentricon® baiting system

The Sentricon® system is an in-ground termite baiting program. Bait stations are installed in the soil around the perimeter of your home and checked on an ongoing schedule. When foraging termites find a station, they feed on the bait and share it throughout the colony as part of their normal behavior; our technicians monitor the stations over time and service them as needed. Gray Pest Control’s technicians are Certified Sentricon® Specialists.

How Sentricon® differs from liquid barrier treatment

A liquid treatment establishes a treated zone in the soil around the structure, while Sentricon® is a station-based monitoring and baiting program designed to work with how termites forage. Many homeowners choose Sentricon® for its lower-disruption installation and ongoing monitoring; others prefer or need a liquid treatment depending on the structure and situation. We recommend the right approach after inspecting your home.

Our process

Inspection-first, every time.

We don’t guess. Every termite program starts with a licensed technician inspecting your home, and you get the findings in writing before any treatment.

  1. 1

    Inspection

A licensed technician inspects your home and property to confirm termite activity and identify conditions that attract termites.

  2. 2

    Written report & plan

You receive a written report of findings plus a recommended treatment plan and a clear quote.

  3. 3

    Treatment

We install Sentricon® bait stations and/or apply a liquid treatment, using EPA-registered products applied per label directions.

  4. 4

    Ongoing monitoring

We monitor bait stations and service them on a schedule, documenting each visit.

  5. 5

    Annual review

We re-inspect and report on the system's status to keep your termite program current.

Another option

Liquid barrier termite treatment

Prefer a traditional approach, or have a structure that calls for it? We also offer liquid barrier termite treatment that establishes a continuous treated zone in the soil around your home, using EPA-registered termiticides applied by licensed technicians per label directions.

  • Treated zone established in the soil around the structure
  • EPA-registered products applied per label directions
  • Can be used on its own or alongside Sentricon®
  • Recommended after a technician inspects your home
Guarantee & contract

A written agreement and a service guarantee

Florida law requires a written contract for termite protection, so every termite program includes a clear, written agreement that spells out the scope of service. We back our work with a service guarantee: if covered termite activity is found between scheduled visits, we return to re-service at no additional charge, and new programs are backed by our 30-day satisfaction guarantee.

These are service commitments — they describe what we will do, not a promise about any specific outcome.

  • Written termite agreement (required by FL law)
  • Free re-service between scheduled visits
  • 30-day satisfaction guarantee on new programs
  • EPA-registered products, applied per label directions
Termite FAQ

Termite questions, answered.

How much does termite treatment cost?

Termite pricing depends on your home's size, construction, and the level of activity, so we provide a quote after an inspection rather than over the phone. Your free termite quote includes a written report and clear, no-obligation pricing. Termite protection is also included in our Gray Guard plan.

How do I know if I have termites?

Common signs include mud tubes on foundation walls, discarded wings near windows after a spring swarm, hollow-sounding or damaged wood, and doors or windows that suddenly stick. Many infestations show no obvious signs, which is why an annual professional inspection is the most reliable way to detect activity early.

What is Sentricon®?

Sentricon® is an in-ground termite baiting system. Bait stations are installed in the soil around your home and monitored on an ongoing schedule; foraging termites feed on the bait and share it within the colony through their normal behavior. Gray Pest Control's technicians are Certified Sentricon® Specialists.

How often are the bait stations checked?

Bait stations are monitored and serviced on a regular schedule as part of your program, and we document each visit. We review the specific schedule with you when we design your plan.

Do you offer liquid termite treatment too?

Yes. In addition to the Sentricon® baiting system, we offer liquid barrier termite treatment using EPA-registered products applied by licensed technicians per label directions. After inspecting your home, we recommend whether a baiting program, a liquid treatment, or a combination is the best fit.
